It is unbiased and uncompromising, so it allows us to identify the most painful problems related to fundamental rights that need to be addressed. By revealing problems and openly discussing issues related to human rights violations, it does not harm our state and society, but helps to build a dignified life for people.

Human rights work has a strategic value – the successful resolution of even one particular human rights issue can be an important example and a serious impetus for the resolution of the larger problem of which it was a part.

Successful outcomes empower people to understand the importance of their rights, and enables civil society staff to identify where our efforts are needed most, and what information about human rights and how to protect them best meets their needs. Our experience allows us to propose concrete actions to improve human rights.

We want our efforts to eventually be scaled up, recognized by society and change attitudes to the human rights situation in Abkhazia. An atmosphere of indifference and tolerance of violations is a breeding ground for human rights violations. Public rejection and misunderstanding of human rights activities is carte blanche for those who violate rights. Your attention to the rights of others and your support for human rights work, regardless of whether your rights have been violated or not, is a serious contribution to a just society.
